Spend a Day in the Mission
Go to the Mission and visit world-famous shops like Ike’s Place (Sandwich) and/or Bi-Rite Creamery (Ice Cream) and eat it in the beautiful Dolores Park overlooking the city.
Ike’s Place is our favorite sandwich shop in the city and Dolores Park is one of our favorite parks. We love grabbing a sandwich and eating it at the top of the park with a beautiful view of the city. Check out Ike’s amazing selection at www.ilikeikesplace.com. There is often a very long line (over one hour), so we highly recommend calling them at (415) 553‑6888 and ordering in advance, before you hop on the direct 33 bus that takes you there. Then you’ll feel like a local when you cut the line to pick up your sandwich! IMPORTANT NOTE, SEPT 2016: Ike’s is currently under construction and has relocated a few blocks away at 2239 Market St and is temporarily called Mike’s!
Also, right by to the park is Bi-Rite Creamery, one of the most famous Ice Cream shops in the world (although we love Smitten, too!) and Tartine Bakery & Cafe. Grab some sweets for the park, too!
(In map below, note that Ike’s and Cafe Sophie are under renovation; Ike’s has temporarily moved to 2239 Market.)
